Aside from technical writing, I participate in several professional and volunteer activities in my community.

Professionally, I am involved in the WordPress Charleston User Group. I also attended the 2014 Society for Technical Communication conference in Phoenix, Arizona.

I am an avid volunteer for local charity road races, including the Charles Towne Landing 5K series, Arthritis Foundation Jingle Bell Run, and the Lowcountry Autism Foundation’s Raccoon Pond Trail Run.

I serve as an Athlete Ambassador for TrySports Mt. Pleasant, where I volunteer at various health and fitness related activities in the Charleston area, including group runs, road races, and charity events. I am also a former coach for the Florence Track Club, a USATF Junior Olympic running club for children ages 6-17.

I strive to stay involved with my alma mater, Francis Marion University. As a member of the Alumni Association, I volunteer at freshman move-in day and have spoken to students about the important of getting involved in college while maintaining good grades and networking. I am also a contributor for The View, a bi-annual magazine for alumni, friends, and the university community.

At ACS Technologies, I participated in Adopt-a-Highway, the employee wellness group, and the company Couch-to-5K program. I was also a member of the Young Professionals of Florence, a local networking organization for professionals in the Pee Dee.
